Flow Control — Delta-T Explainer

The Goal — Explain Why Buildings Refuse to Cooperate

Designing an HVAC system would be much easier if buildings just did what they were told.

Unfortunately, sunlight moves. People come and go. Equipment turns on and off. And the heating and cooling needs of a building are constantly changing.

Flow Control needed an engaging way to explain how pressure independent control valves respond to those changing conditions — and why maintaining proper Delta-T matters for system performance.

The Approach — Make the Invisible Visible

The challenge with explaining hydronic HVAC systems is that most of the interesting stuff is happening inside pipes.

Not exactly cinematic gold.

So we used 3D animation and motion graphics to make the system visible — showing how water moves through a building, how changing conditions affect demand, and how valves continuously adjust flow to keep the system operating efficiently.

Rather than burying viewers in engineering terminology, we built the story around what it is, why it matters and how it works — giving technical audiences enough detail to be credible while keeping the rest of us comfortably above water.

The Outcome — Complexity, Under Control

The finished animation gives Flow Control a clear, visual way to explain a complicated technical idea — whether it’s being used by sales, shown to customers or shared with engineers and facility professionals.

Because when your product solves a problem nobody can actually see, sometimes the best thing video can do is show them exactly what’s going on.

Pipes and all.
